Note that although the year codes start with A, that by itself is not evidence that these codes were actually in use by Actual observed marks on actual observed guns suggests that the year code system was not in universal use that early. So, just when did the Eibar proof house switch from the older stamps to the newer ones? It looks like the big year was Guns proofed in might have either the older or newer stamps.
Of course dating the older stamps can be an exercise, as they don’t have a date code. Other information such as the serial number of the gun must be used to estimate the manufacture date, which puts limits on the proofing date. Obviously, errors are possible. But so far, is my best guess for the transition date. Everything above is general for Spanish handguns, and applies to Beistegui Hermanos guns as well as Unceta.
Now for photos of actual specimens.

The forks are a pleasing weight, and very good quality, they have a lovely feel. The forks are engraved with an interesting family crest, a leopards head with an arrow in its mouth, this is unusually engraved on the back of the forks. We welcome any assistance with identification of the family crest. The spoon has the traditional measuring spoon shape, with circular spherical bowl and long flat handle.
The spoon has an interesting triple rat-tail joining the bowl to the handle. The hallmarks are on the front of the spoon, and are well struck, they could not be better. The detail on the sterling lion passant and London town mark leopards head is fantastic, please see the photographs. The butter spade has a bone handle, the blade is shield shaped as opposed to usual triangular shape, The armorial centre cross with 4 crosses is topped with an engraved lion rampant where the blade joins the handle.

This has the new serial number method of dating in it. The decision is yours alone to make. It is your gun, fingers and face. Because of the multitude of questions regarding this subject, I have found and I am including a link to a document that explains very well if you can use steel shot in guns proofed for steel and not proofed for steel. Shot size, shot charge weight, momentum generated and shot velocity are all factors. In short, a high performance steel shot shell should only be used in guns with the steel shot proof mark, the Fleur de Lis.
Remember the guns were proofed to CIP standards can be used in guns not proofed for steel shot if the following conditions are met: Pressure as published for standard shells is not exceeded A certain shot size is not exceeded The choke is no greater than modified The shot velocity is not exceeded The Momentum generated is not exceeded The numbers are in the attached document for 12 ga and 20 ga. You will need to do the math yourself. Two ways to do this.

Gun Barrel Proof Marks Markings on gun barrels and other gun components that indicate the level of pressure, calibre and standards that a weapon is fit for in service. The drawings vary in style due to differences in the original information. Most are black silhouettes, but some of those that have been produced from photographs have a quasi 3 dimensional appearance that requires the onlooker to imagine that the light source is in the top left hand corner of the screen.
De bossed or panelled marks show the depression in grey, with the original metal surface shown white or transparent if shown against a grid. The proof certificate is in Spanish, but the dimensions and tolerances are recognisable. Where possible the drawings will be presented against a gridded background as shown at right. The red squares in the grid represent two millimetres, but the images themselves may not be to an exact scale, mainly because the depth to which the marks are punched and the angle at which the punch was held when it was struck will also affect the size and shape of the mark.
I have tried to be consistent in the application of this grid as a background to the individual marks, so that sensible comparisons may be made. There is a further complication in that punches of different sizes are used according to the size of weapon and so you may have marks that do not agree with the measurements as displayed here. In cases where I cannot be certain of relative sizings the grid will be omitted. The symbols have been gathered from a large number of sources including magazine and book illustrations, the drawings themselves are all my own work.
This is a long term project and may not be completed quickly, however it will grow slowly as the information comes to light and is processed into the standardised. Any photographs, drawings or factual details that can be provided by others will be gratefully received and full recognition of source given. As with anything published on the web this information may not be as up to date or as complete as the latest details available from the proof houses, but the revision text at bottom right of this page will tell you when this particular page was last worked on.

But there has been plenty of controversy surrounding the chocolate treats in many years, with some saying the tubs are leaving them short changed. And, just weeks after Nestle provoked fury among Birmingham foodies by scrapping a signature Quality Street item, West Midlands data geek Ravi Subramanian has crowd sourced some data to establish if we were getting a fair festive tub.
They would normally enter an agreement in principle to buy the football club. You would then look at the proof of funds. The perspective owners would then pass all their information onto the Aston.
Go to Catholic Exchange homepage guest This is one of the worst articles I have ever read. You can tell a tree by its fruits. Vocations have grown, lives changed and cures and they have proof of hundreds of people. The blessed mother has said the sign would come when the apparitios end. Prayer groups have grown and the young who go there have changed their lives. How can you make an adequate judgment without even being there? When I went, you really had to search to find information about the apparitions.
The focus was on the Eucharist, Mass, adoration, confession, prayer and the rosary. I know many holy priests from the diocese here who have gone on pilgrimages there and speak highly of it. One holy priest I know received his calling there. One example is in his letters to Marek Skwarnicki. I know nothing of that. Katherine I really hope that you have spent a lot of time researching Medjugorje on both sides and have spent hours in prayer over this topic.
To bash something that has led to many vocations, conversions and fervent prayer is a serious matter.

Definitions[ edit ] Firefighters at work The Oxford English Dictionary cites the earliest use of the word in English in the spelling of risque from its from French original, ‘risque’ as of , and the spelling as risk from It defines risk as: Exposure to the possibility of loss, injury, or other adverse or unwelcome circumstance; a chance or situation involving such a possibility. This definition, using project terminology, is easily made universal by removing references to projects.
This concept is more properly known as the ‘Expectation Value’ or ‘Risk Factor’ and is used to compare levels of risk The probability or threat of quantifiable damage, injury, liability, loss, or any other negative occurrence that is caused by external or internal vulnerabilities, and that may be avoided through preemptive action. The possibility that an actual return on an investment will be lower than the expected return.
Dear Twitpic Community – thank you for all the wonderful photos you have taken over the years. We have now placed Twitpic in an archived state.
There are a number of methods by which a rifle can be dated, or at least bracketed between certain years of manufacture. For the latter, dates of introduction of military arms can be located within the Government “List of Changes” LoCs as can dates of obsolescence and of modification or upgrade to later marks. You may not necessarily find specific date information within the text of particular pages, but often the images of advertisements or catalogue entries contain some dating ‘give-away’, such as the year in which a particular rifle achieved a notable competition score by someone, but which data is in graphic format and therefore not “searchable” by a text search engine.
Do not briefly glance over a page and assume that the information you require is not there. It may not be immediately obvious, but careful observation may provide you with the information for which you are looking. Such research is a major part of the joy of owning, collecting and shooting classic or historic rifles. Anschutz target rifles fall into this category, and their system is given on the page for these rifles.
Quite apart from such dating information as we have been able to provide on many of the individual rifle types included on this website, there are other ways in which you may be able to confirm the date of manufacture, or at least the date of proof, of your rifle. Do remember, though, that date information coded with proof and Proof-House inspection, viewing or identification marks, does not necessarily coincide with the date of manufacture.
Because many rifles may have been imported or, prior to sale on the civilian market, have only had military proof marks, then dating from the Birmingham or London Proof House marks needs to be treated with a degree of both caution and common sense.

Seven years later, another document described another mercer in the area. Within the next ten years, the area developed into a leading market town and a major cloth trade was established. The name Mercer Street is first mentioned in the Survey of Birmingham of This was a result of the prominence of the area in the cloth trade. In the 16th century and 17th century, Mercer Street rapidly developed and became cramped. In the early 18th century Mercer Street was known as Spicer Street, reflecting the growing grocery and meat trade that had begun to take over from the cloth trade.
